When Mike Leach passed away on December 12, 2022, following urgent hospitalization, all eyes turned to those he left behind, especially his wife, Sharon Leach. Mike was a man whose activities while alive touched many people. So when it was announced that he had passed on, there was a tremendous outpour of sympathy and support.  Many reached out to Sharon after the news broke, hoping to relieve her pain because they knew how close she had been to Mike.

The Life Fitness center in Bettendorf could be sold. This comes after a recommendation by their city administrator presented at tonight’s city council work session. Bettendorf is down about $2,000,000 in tax revenue because of the pandemic, according to estimates by city administrator Decker Ploehn. Several council members indicated they’re against selling the fitness center, but would be willing to raise access prices to close the revenue gap. “If we would just raise it a couple of bucks, last year we had 177,000 people go through the door of the fitness center,” Jerry Sechser, Bettendorf alderman from Ward 1 said.

Buildings at a farm on U.S. Route 6 between Atkinson and Annawan were severely damaged Tuesday evening after tornado warnings and severe storm activity in Bureau and Henry counties. Our Quad Cities News spoke to the farmers who rode out the storm in a metal building. Parts of other buildings, including a shed, were destroyed. The roof blew down on an equipment shed, where the owners were not able to assess damage later Tuesday.
