Trace Adkins is doing his part to uplift western Kentucky after a devastating tornado outbreak that occurred in December 2021. The singer appeared on Today on Wednesday (April 12) to announce a free show in Mayfield, Ky., called Somewhere in America: A Concert for Mayfield presented by KIOTI Tractor.  The show will take place at Mayfield High School’s CFSB War Memorial Stadium on Saturday, May 20, 2023. The concert is named after Adkins' song "Somewhere in America," from his August 2021 album, The Way I Wanna Go.
The Burlington Police Department responded to a call Friday, December 10 at approximately 11:41 p.m., regarding reports of multiple shots in the area of Washington Street and Argyle Court. Upon arrival, officers found a victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington for medical treatment, and the injuries appear to be non-life-threatening. This is an active investigation. Owner Joe Schulte has been selling online on Amazon and eBay for the past three years and the business really took off during COVID.
A Laurel man is facing felony charges after being accused of having sex with and underage teen girl.  Myles Wilson, 20, (Photo in For the Record) was charged with two counts of statutory rape for having sex with a 14-year-old girl at least twice in the county, Sgt. James Allison Holifield Sr., 80, of Ellisville, died at Forrest General Hospital on Thursday, March 14, 2019, after a lengthy illness.   Visitation will be Saturday, March 16, from 5-8 p.m. at Ellisville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Ellisville First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Ellisville City Cemetery. Rev. Austin-based country rock band Reckless Kelly are on the road to retirement — at least from touring. The band tell Rolling Stone that beginning in 2023, they will begin to reduce the number of tour dates they commit to, and they intend to retire from the road entirely come 2025. Band members and brothers Willy and Cody Braun tell the publication that their decision stems from the desire to simply slow down after playing roughly 200 shows per year for the majority of their career.
