After she won her first Grammy Award early in 2023, Ashley McBryde said she was planning to get a tattoo to commemorate the occasion. On Sunday night (April 2), at the 2023 CMT Music Awards, the singer made good on that promise: She walked into the ceremony with a golden gramophone freshly inked onto her left wrist.
"Fresh tattoo, yeah. It's still healing. So we're seven or eight days [out from getting it done],"
Like any good country woman, Reba McEntire loves boots. Heck, she recently launched her own collection of Western boots for Justin Footwear! It's no huge surprise that the superstar has her fair share of kicks, but would you believe she owns 85 pairs of boots?

UPDATE: The Rock Island School Board and Superintendent released a statement Wednesday afternoon:
“Effective June 3, 2023, Dr. Lawrence will be relieved of his duties as Superintendent of Rock Island-Milan School District 41. Dr. Lawrence has served Rock Island-Milan for nearly four years. This is a mutual agreement between the Superintendent and Board of Education.
The Board thanks Dr. Lawrence for his service and dedication to the students of District 41 and expresses its best wishes to him and his future endeavors.
Winger wins big at Davenport Speedway

Ashton Winger of Senoia, Georgia was the big winner at the DIRTcar Summer Nationals race held at Davenport Speedway, Wednesday night. Winger started sixth and led the race twice for a total of 14 laps, including the last five circuits. Winger’s toughest competition came from Iowa brothers Chad and Chris Simpson.
Chad Simpson jumped out to the early lead from the pole and led the first 19 laps, before Winger went to the point for laps 20 through 28.
Former Palmer College of Chiropractic President Donald P. “Don” Kern, D.C., died Sunday, July 24 at the age of 86. Funeral services are planned for 12 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, at Newcomb Presbyterian Church, located at 2619 N Division Street in Davenport. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the church.
Dr. Kern graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1958, following in the footsteps of his father Donald O.

Perhaps the most unique aspect of Kix Brooks' home is that it uses reclaimed structural beams, milled from remnants of old tobacco warehouses. Inside the home, one will also find a commercial-grade kitchen, a three-story staircase and, of course, a wine cellar for the hitmaker to store bottles of his Arrington Vineyards reserves.
The windows on the home were imported from Germany, and at the time of purchase, the wooded entrance was accented with wildflowers from local and endangered plant species.

Mary Katherine Walters Carr of Ellisville passed away peacefully at Guardian Angels Personal Care Home on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the age of 83.
She was a beautician while putting herself through nursing school. She then became a nurse at Ellisville State School, where she retired.
She was preceded in death by her husband Billy H. Carr Sr.; and her sons Billy H. Carr Jr., Bobby Carr and Gregory Carr.

Oscar-Winning director Mike Nichols was pronounced dead after suddenly suffering an apparent heart attack on Wednesday, Nov. 19, ‘ABC News’ reports. He was 83. Mike, who won the Academy Award for Best Director for the 1967 film The Graduate, was also the husband of former ‘ABC World News’ anchor Diane Sawyer, 68. “He was a true visionary, winning the highest honors in the arts for his work as a director, writer, producer and comic, and was one of a tiny few to win the EGOT – an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony in his lifetime,” ‘ABC News’ president James Goldston said in a statement following Mike’s death.
